This in-person, experiential workshop in the Santa Fe Forest blends eco-art therapy, mindfulness, and awareness of nature’s energies with creative expression. Participants will commune with nature, create art with the energies of the forest, and explore how nature-based creativity enhances well-being. Through individual and group art-making, along with guided mindfulness and awareness practices, you’ll deepen your connection to the land and cultivate presence.
Ideal for those seeking renewal through nature and creativity, this workshop also offers art-based CEUs (NM Licensure only). Come enjoy a nourishing retreat in the woods, where art and nature unite for inspiration and healing.

What will we be doing?
Part of the day will be group art making using natural materials and part of the day will be time for each participant to find a spot in nature to commune, write & create on their own before returning to the group to process.

Are CEUs available for this workshop?
This workshop offers 4 CEUs (NM Licensure only) for therapists, social workers, and helping professionals. A $40 CEU fee applies, and certificates are provided upon completion.

What should I bring?
Lunch and beverages (a cooler, drinking water, and supplemental snacks will be available); layers, as mountain weather can range from hot sun to rain; a sun hat, as we will be both under a shelter and working at nature sites; sunscreen (some will be available on-site); a journal and pen; preferred art supplies; and a camp chair, sitting cushion, or blanket for comfortable seating on the ground.

Weather Considerations:
Weather in the mountains above Santa Fe can vary, late June can be the hottest time of the year, but Hyde Park is typically 10 degrees cooler. There may be sun, a passing rain storm. Be prepared. A jacket, shawl, long sleeve shirt is encouraged.

Parking/Day Use pass/Car Pool
Each car will be required to have a Hyde Park Day Pass which is included in the cost of your registration. Car Pool is encouraged to save on cost and the number of cars on site. Car Pool coordination will be offered prior to event.

Cell Service
There is typically no cell service in Hyde Park. We are close to the ranger station if there is an urgent situation and cell service can be reached just 5 mins down the road if needed. Take this a wonderful opportunity to unplug in nature and focus on yourself.
